TEHRAN (Press TV) - A senior member of the parliament says that through negotiation with the U.S., Tehran seeks to find solutions to the main causes of insecurity in Iraq.

“The Iran-U.S. talks were centered on establishing security in Iraq and supporting the country's government,” said Hojjat al-Islam Hossein Sobhani-Nia.
“Even though the U.S. delegation brought up issues unrelated to the topic at hand, this should not become an obstacle in the way of future negotiations,” he noted.
Sobhani-Nia also added that groundless U.S. accusations would not hinder the process of Iraq security talks.
Iran, which has offered Baghdad its full cooperation, believes the U.S. presence in the region is escalating insecurity in the Middle Eastern country.
Tehran and Washington have held three rounds of talks in Baghdad since May. The talks marked the first direct contacts between the two countries since relations were frozen after the 1979 Islamic Revolution
